Leitrim, Home to Slow Adventure
Nestled in the north west of Ireland only a two-hour drive from Dublin and a short 45 minutes from Ireland West Airport, County Leitrim is the home of Slow Adventure in Ireland. Here you will slow down and immerse in nature as you enjoy and experience the Shannon waterways, Leitrim’s many lakes and mountains, its traditional towns and villages, local crafts and slow food. You’ll find miles of unexplored hills and forests, and carefully selected slow adventure providers who will show you the way and share their local knowledge with you. Leitrim is a place where you will create lasting memories.
A Leitrim Adventure typically includes:
- wild food
- comfort in the outdoors
- creating and enhancing people’s understanding of nature
- human or nature-powered travel or
- enhanced engagement with place
To assist you as you consider and plan your next getaway, we have created a number of Experiences. Each one has been crafted to offer unique itineraries to visitors as they explore and experience Leitrim.
What does an Experience involve?
An Experience involves on average, two activities and include a slow food lunch or picnic. The Experience operate a seamless transition from one activity to the next. Most of our experiences are fully guided.
All of our experiences operate as small groups with a maximum number of 10 participants. This ensures our guests can engage freely with our guides. There is a minimum number required to operate our groups and in the event of the experience not achieving these numbers an alternative date or experiences will be offered, or a refund will be given.
Solo travelers are most welcome to join any of our experiences. Bookings can be made up to one month in advance and private experiences are also available on request.
